Use voice commands to control music and podcasts with Amazon Alexa!
I was setting up a HEOS amp for a client using my phone and I linked Spotify to it to be able to test the functions of the amp. I thought that once I left their wi-fi, their device would no longer show up on spotify account but it still there weeks later. You can remove devices from your Spotify account in two ways: using a desktop computer or through the mobile app. If you're removing a device from Spotify using your desktop, you'll need to open.
Get started
Download the Alexa app, open it, and link your Spotify account with these steps:
Set Spotify as your default service for music and podcasts so you don’t need to specify “on Spotify” at the end of your voice commands to play music:
Note: Current app spotify. You still need to say “on Spotify” at the end of commands to play podcasts.
Now just ask Alexa to play something! E.g. 'Alexa, play Discover Weekly'. Check out the Amazon help site for supported languages.
Supported devices
Amazon Echo, Amazon Echo Dot, Amazon Echo Spot, Amazon Echo Show, Amazon Tap, Amazon Fire TV Cube, and all Sonos players.
